Laton Endowment Making Difference
The Library Board of Trustees meeting on July 23 at the Republic Branch Library welcomed a special guest. Bill Woody, son-in-law of Ursula Marie Laton, visited the branch to see the computers that were purchased with the first distribution of the Laton Endowment.
Branch Manager Erin Gray provided a tour. Library Foundation President Laurie Edmondson and Foundation Secretary Teresa Blair were also there to greet Bill. Bill’s late wife Jean Laton Woody served two terms on the Library board.
Bill was very impressed with the Republic Branch and amazed at how busy the computers are. He said, “Both Ursula Marie Laton and Jean Laton Woody would be very pleased at the use of the Laton Endowment distribution for the Republic Branch.”
