Innovation in Children's Books
A new kind of children’s book is coming to The Library, says Library Development Director Melissa Adler.
“As children’s books with CDs are being phased out, read-alongs that have a built-in audio box will be introduced,” she says. “With a push of a button, children can hear the words on the page as they follow the story. The attached player will eliminate scratched and lost CDs.
And, they’re completely portable.”
A $12,100 grant from the Library Foundation Board of Directors will buy about 275 books for this pilot program.
